Whew… made it through another year!  Now we have to gear it up for 2010, which will be our 22nd.  It is flattering that in the past few years other publications have taken our concepts and have used them for their own end, even to the point of one actually trying to be us… same concept, same layout, same designer, same printer (however we have since changed printers) and even a font in their logo that is very similar to ours.  That, however, is where the likeness ends… they have not been able to duplicate our content or our respectability.  Original ideas are hard to come by… we are glad we had ours!  In the coming year we will take you on new “day trips” to places you may have never been.  We will continue to spotlight restaurants that are worth the drive and bring our fine local ones to your attention.  As we have done for 22 years, we will continue to distribute the Old Town Crier to our surrounding old towns as well as discover new ones.  As Virginia Wines continue to improve we will bring one to you each month.   Our writers will continue their first class articles which makes us one of the most widely read publications as well as the most widely distributed.

Now that the holidays are over, take time for yourself.  Check out our back cover and visit one of the restaurants that are participating in Restaurant Week January 15th to the 24th.  It is a great chance to visit and try one of these fine restaurants at a discounted price.  Check out the retailers that are offering sales in January.  It is time to treat yourself.
