Grab a dockside seat for midweek sailboat races in the Annapolis Harbor every Wednesday night. Some 150 yachts race around several marks in the Bay then back into Spa Creek for the finish in front of the Annapolis Yacht Club. For many, the post-race party is the official beginning of the weekend.

Join the fun on the first Sunday of each month when crafts vendors, artists, musical acts and street performers gather to celebrate the arts. New this year, open swing dance lessons and jitterbugging opportunities. Beginner lessons start at 1:30 p.m.; live music featuring the Unified Jazz Ensemble and dancing follow at 2:00. Other entertainment includes the Alexandria Kleztet at noon, Latifa and Banat al-Beled's Middle Eastern dance troupe at 1:30, and the Tom Lagana Trio at 3:30.

You won’t want to miss what is arguably the largest crab feast in the world, when nearly 3,000 crab lovers gather each year to feast on the Chesapeake Bay’s bounty. In addition to large #1 male crabs (the big ones) and Maryland vegetable crab soup, there is plenty of food and drink available for non-seafood lovers as well.

Kids become swabbies at Navy Way Boot Camp held on The Yard at the USNA. Recruits
age 6-12 are issued a sailor's cap, learn Navy terms, march, chant, follow orders and eat in a simulated mess. Cost includes "dixie cup" cap, boot camp, lunch and certificate of participation. Advanced Boot Camp is for graduates of Basic who are between the ages of nine and 12. Swabbies take seamanship training, learn how to use semphore flags and march in precision drill.

Join the Annapolis Gallery Association for the 20th annual Annapolis Art Walk. Here is your chance to peek over an artist’s shoulder and watch them work. More than 20 galleries in downtown Annapolis will host new art exhibits and feature artists working in oil, watercolor, ceramics, woodturning, sculpture, jewelry, handcrafts and more during this festive evening of visual arts. Musicians abound around town and the galleries serve light refreshments. This promises to be an enjoyable summer evening for art lovers. Come discover why Annapolis has been consistently designated a "Top 25 Arts Destination" by American Style Magazine. Yellow balloons are posted at all participating galleries - maps and events listings will be available at each art gallery.

Bring your four-legged friend and kick off the weekend with the monthly dog-friendly happy hour hosted by Paws Pet Boutique and the Loews Annapolis Hotel. Tails wag and people smile as prizes are raffled off to benefit a different worthy cause. This month features a canine ice cream social. The "happy-tail hours" take place rain or shine on the Weather Rail covered patio.
