Some people will probably think of me as foolish having chosen the picture that I did for this month’s notes. Sometimes we are all a bit foolish, but more importantly, we have to have the capacity to laugh at ourselves. Mardi Gras is a time for celebration, whether you be jester or king… no fools allowed. Speaking of Mardi Gras, check out our restaurant ads for the best celebrations in town. Another holiday this month is Valentine’s Day. If you have not chosen a restaurant yet, make your selection from those in our Valentine Day banner page.
Jamie Elliot writes about Peter Muilenburg in this months Caribbean Connection and his life aboard a 28-foot sailboat and his home. If you have never been to the east end of St. John, you gotta go… it is great.
With spring just around the corner, check out all of the workout tips in the fitness section. From the Trainer writer Ryan Unverzagt adds a bit of Valentine to his column with advice on how to work out with a partner. Speaking of fitness, we are proud to be sponsors for Alexandria Rugby and particularly their upcoming Rugby Ball at the French Embassy March 6th. For more info see the ad on the inside back cover.
This month in High Notes, Chris Anderson reviews former Alexandrian and American Idol qualifier, Bryce Larsen’s CD. This is special for me since Bryce is the son of my long-time friend Carl. Carl was one of the first people I met when I came to Old Town over 30 years ago. I have never voted for an American Idol, but I will this year. I encourage all of you to tune in to Bryce’s performance.
In the spirit of the season….Laissez le bon temps roulez!!!!
