Hometown: Charlottesville, Virginia

Item always found in your refrigerator: Sparkling Water

Best thing about the Virginia Wine Industry: People, magic people I work with great people we have so much fun!

Worst thing about the Virginia Wine Industry: Weather, especially last year

Most Embarrassing Moment: Early in my winemaking career, I was racking Viognier (moving into another tank) and I put all of my Viognier into a tank already occupied by Chardonnay.  This unintended blending session resulted in the birth of the “Harlequin” wine.

Comfort Food: Shepherd’s Pie

Favorite saying (or bumper sticker): “It Is What It Is” said about a billion times during the 2011 vintage

Favorite wine (yours or anyone else’s): As a region I love Sancerre (the eastern part of the Loire valley of France). I won’t pick a favorite of my wines as it would make the other wines jealous.
